Words in Walden is thrilled to celebrate not just our 10th year of festivals in Saffron Walden but also the opening of the wonderful Hart’s Books. All our events except our annual Family Concert will take place in the bookshop this year – there’s a maximum of 60 seats for each event so don’t miss out!
In this anniversary year we’re delighted to be welcoming back to Saffron Walden several festival favourites, including two who spoke at our very first festival.
With a line-up including Gill Hornby, Alexander Masters, Erwin James and Anna Pasternak, there’s everything from mouldering diaries to prison reform; one of the greatest love stories of the 20th century to All Afloat on Noah’s Boat as well as ‘Once Upon a Tune’, at Saffron Hall with James Mayhew and the Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra.
(After the Festival we are planning a series of events in a year-round programme so keep an eye out for posters and make sure you’re on the Hart’s Books mailing list. The first speaker in the series is the wonderful natural historian and author of Dry Store Room No.I, Richard Fortey, talking about his latest book, The Wood for the Trees. He couldn’t make our festival dates so he’s coming on Thursday 27th October). You can book your tickets in person from Hart’s Books or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The Family Concert tickets are only available from the Saffron Hall box office at www.saffronhall.com
